This week we looked at postmodernism.

Postmodernism

Postmodernism is a broad term that refers to a number of artistic, literary, and cultural movements that emerged in the late 20th century in reaction to the modernist movements of the early 20th century. Postmodernism is characterized by a scepticism towards grand narratives and universal truths and a focus on the individual and the local. Postmodernist artists and writers sought to challenge and subvert traditional forms and conventions and to break with the past. They were interested in exploring the constructed nature of reality and the ways in which meaning is produced and communicated. Postmodernism had a significant influence on a wide range of artistic and cultural practices, including architecture, literature, art, and film, and its legacy continues to be felt to this day.
