IXD101 ( 30249 ) - Interaction Design Fundamentals. 2022-23

Typography is the contrasts seen between different styles of text that create unique appearances. This distinction of styles particularly changes throughout time periods and movements, across a range of media forms such as print or online text.
“95% of the information on the web is written language. It is only logical to say that a web designer should get good training in the main discipline of shaping written information, in other words: Typography” Oliver Reichenstein
Looking at designers and their work, exploring how they have manipulated the letterform to create unique typefaces and designs.
“Developing authentic and original ideas demands careful observation of, and response to, technological, social, and environmental changes.” Willi Kunz
The letter can be presented in many different ways, through features and designs that manipulate its appearance. This could range from serifs to imagery based graphics.
