Schindler's list influence

In the movie, Schindler's list, scenes are viewed in black and white, all but one; the little girl in the red coat. Given the relation to World War and Nazism, I decided to take this as inspiration and created red accents throughout the website e.g. links.

Layout

Recognizing that a cohesive layout is an essential part of a good website, I wanted to make sure I got it right. When designing the layout, This accidentally happened on screen. I had dragged a white frame over a black background, but it had created this side bar sort of layout, which I actually quite liked at the time. So, that's what I worked off.

These were my initial layout plans for my website. I created them on Figma. You can see just how different the initial concepts and finalised version can be so different, yet so similar. For example, I kept the large title screen for the beginning of the page, but the layout is entirely different.
